His 64 goals are the most in a single season since Alex Ovechkin scored 65 in 2008, and his 153 points represent the most accumulated in a single season since Mario Lemieux finished with 161 in 1996. He earned the Maurice Richard Trophy for the league's top goal scorer, the Art Ross Trophy for the league's top point scorer, the Ted Lindsay Award for the league's most outstanding player as selected by the NHLPA, and the Hart Memorial Trophy for the most valuable player as selected by hockey media.
